Paragliding, hike & fly, thermal flying, or cross-country flying—once you've been up in the air, you know that flying is freedom. Just a few meters above the ground, another world begins. No noise except the wind, no stress—just you, your glider, and the feeling of really flying.
But as weightless as the adventure may seem, flying is a technical sport. And no part of your body is as crucial as your hands. Brake handles, harness straps, carabiners – everything is controlled by your fingers. That's why what you wear on your hands determines control, comfort – and, in case of doubt, safety.
Why aviation gloves are more than just protection against the cold
Flying puts particular strain on the hands. The upright position and arms held above shoulder height reduce blood circulation, causing fingers to cool quickly, even in summer. Temperatures can drop well below 10°C, especially on longer flights or at higher altitudes. If you don't wear suitable gloves, you will soon feel numb and lose the sensitivity you need to control the controls.
But it's not just about warmth. Pilots like Nicola Thost, one of our most experienced athletes, know exactly what matters:
“The gloves mustn't be too thick – precision is important, especially when sorting lines and handling the canopy. And they should cover the wrists – we're constantly exposed to the wind, our arms are up, so it gets cold quickly. By the way, I think colored gloves are really cool; everything being black all the time is boring.”

AVIATOR.GTX – full warmth, full control
For particularly long flights, winter thermals, or distances over 2,000 meters, the AVIATOR.GTX is the gold standard. Developed in collaboration with paragliding pro Daniel Kofler, this glove was specifically designed for extreme conditions in flight sports. The integrated electric heating provides up to 10 hours of warmth in three stages – controlled via the flame symbol on the back of the hand.
The combination of GORE-TEX® membrane, PRIMALOFT® insulation and moisture-regulating BREATH lining provides reliable protection against wind and moisture – while maintaining high breathability. The extended, cuff-like wristband without annoying tabs or Velcro fasteners makes handling in the harness easy and safe – even with harness hand loops. And the touch function allows you to operate your GPS or flight device while on the go.

MYMOUNTAINPASSION – for active pilots who want more than just flying
For pilots who are not only in the air but also on the mountain, the MYMOUNTAINPASSION is a real multisport favorite. Whether hike & fly, via ferrata or trail running – these all-season gloves impress with robust goatskin on the palm, elastic 4-way stretch and a comfortable neoprene cuff.
The HOOK loop allows easy attachment to a backpack or carabiner – ideal for on the go.

MTB PRO – originally designed for bikes, perfect for the cockpit
What works on trails also works in the air – that's why many pilots choose the MTB PRO. Originally designed for mountain bikers, it features a grippy Amara palm, continuous silicone print, and a soft 4-way stretch upper material. The fit is sporty and direct – ideal for precise steering. Olympic champion Nicola Thost knows what matters, and not just on a snowboard – she also knows what it takes when flying.
“The MTB PRO is great for summer flights – lightweight, functional, not too thick. It gives me exactly the grip I need.”
Especially in warmer conditions, on longer hike & fly tours or when the lines are under heavy use, the MTB PRO offers a clever balance of grip, comfort and style – and is also available in sporty colors.
You can't control the thermals – but you can control your comfort!
