Joachim Puchner was born on September 25, 1987 in Vöcklabruck and is a former Austrian ski racer. His disciplines were downhill and super-G. He has been a member of the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) national team since 2011. Puchner's successes: Vice Junior World Champion in the Super-G 2007, Austrian National Champion in the combined in 2010 and his first podium places in the Ski World Cup 2011. Towards the end of the 2010/11 season, Puchner finally joined the world elite. On April 3, 2017, he announced his retirement from active racing after several injuries. Since the 2020/21 World Cup season, Puchner has succeeded Hans Knauß as a cameraman at alpine ski races for ORF.
