Thomas Sykora is a former Austrian ski racer and won the Slalom World Cup in 1996/97 and 1997/98. In his career, he won a total of nine World Cup races and secured the bronze medal in the slalom at the 1998 Olympic Games in Nagano. He was also Austrian slalom champion in 1996 and 1999.
Due to numerous knee injuries, he ended his active career and then became an ORF co-commentator. From 2000, he commented on women's races and was later also used for important men's slaloms, such as Kitzbühel and Schladming. At most of the races he commentates on, he brings the spectators closer to the various routes and their challenges with his helmet camera. In addition to his work as a TV pundit, Sykora also works as a mental coach.
