Innovation is our driving force. We have been developing more than just gloves since 1969. Together with passionate outdoor enthusiasts and professional alpinists, we are also constantly working on solutions in our family business to enable people to enjoy carefree outdoor experiences.
The Glove retought.
Anyone who believes that it is impossible toconstantly reinvent the glove has been proven wrong by Zanier Gloves fordecades. Pioneer of heated gloves in 1999, gloves with GPS in 2003 or pioneerof new materials and cuts. Innovation is what drives our family business, now alsoin its second generation.
In October 2022, CEO Markus Zanier filed a patent application for a new product, which he worked on for nine months. He spends every minute of his free time alone, with his family or friends in the mountains around Innsbruck. In summer with climbing equipment, in winter with touring skis. The idea for a completely new cut came to him right there - on the descent in the cold after a demanding ski tour: ALPINE PRO GRIP.GTX is the glove solution for all mountain sports enthusiasts who want to combine the positive properties of a mitten with those of a finger glove. The patented 3-finger grip cut keeps your hands pleasantly warm thanks to the optimum insulation of a mitten, while the indicated subdivision of the fingers still offers an optimum grip when handling. The ALPINE PRO GRIP.GTX is waterproof and windproof thanks to the new PFC-free GORE-TEX ePE membrane (bluesign®, Standard 100 by oeko-tex® certified, improved carbon footprint), and the leather used is also PFC-free. The warm insulation is made from Tirolwool®, while the 4-way stretch material and touch function make this model a real comfort winner. The glove innovation was nominated for the ISPO Award and bears the Zanier low-impact icon.
Zanier Gloves was a pioneer with the first heated glove back in 1999.
The ZANIER heated gloves - the very first heated gloves in the world - were launched in 1999 and were a real sensation! Even back then, textile heating elements were used to emit heat in the fingertips of the mittens or gloves. ZANIER heating technology is now available in four different gloves in unisex sizes. Especially for people with circulatory disorders or Raynaud's syndrome patients, the heated gloves are crucial for carefree outdoor experiences in winter. Raynaud's syndrome, also known as white finger disease, is caused by a spasm in the blood vessels of the extremities, which stops the blood flow. Outdoor sportswoman Anne Wangler told us here on the blog about her Raynaud's disease during winter sports. In general, almost 90% of Raynaud's patients are women. For this reason alone, you can read about our recommendations for frostbite sufferers here!
This is how the first Heat model was advertised in 1999. The batteries weighed 135 grams at the time...
The story of Zanier heated gloves... now the batteries weigh 60g and are barely noticeable and invisible in the glove band – like here with the Aviator. GTX.
